Hello!

Welcome to my first FS2002 repaint! (But many of my FS2000 planes still work in FS2002.)

I have completely customized and optimized the textures for this fantastic 757-200 model by Euroflight. I've been painting for a while now, but this takes my craft to a whole new level. I'm proud of it.

1. Reworked the night textures by hand for a smooth natural lighting effect. Landing light splash looks good. Also tinted the entire plane slightly blue so it matches the bluish tint FS2002 puts on everything at night. This eliminates the patchwork effect where parts are blue-tinted and others aren't. Pet peeve #1.

2. Completely overhauled the way the daytime windows/cockpit windows appear to get a dark, realistic interior. Look at 100 pics at airliners.net of 757s in the day. The windows are almost completely black 99% of the time. This goes for the cockpit, also. Pilots are almost always shrouded in the dark. Don't believe me? Go look at pics of the real thing. See how many pics you have to pull up to find one where you can even partially see the pilots. Sorry, this is pet peeve #2.

3. Reworked the night windows. I achieved a warm yellowish/gold glow from the interior at night. Optimized the tail light splash at night. Looks good.

4. Shrunk the size of some textures for minor parts. This greatly improves frame rates and has no impact on visual quality. The textures that show up large on the plane are still large format size. I took the overall size of the texture folder from 18MB to about 6.5MB. Big performance improvement.

5. I love the metallic sheen. Although it isn't reflective because this plane wasn't built in GMAX for FS2002. But the effect is convincing. I also put in more realistic engine fan bitmaps.

Installation:
Unzip to your aircraft folder. This uses the mediocre default 777 panel and 737 sounds, but I HIGHLY recommend the Daniel Careri soundset for the 757. It's at SurClaro. I also recommend the Wilco PIC 767 panel. Although it's for the 767, some kind soul redid the .air file for the smaller, lighter 757 in FS2000. Wilco promises to have this package updated for FS2002 in a month or so. Then you'll need an .air file optimized for this model for Wilco PIC.

Too complicated?

There are a number of freeware 757/767 panels out there. I just love Wilco PIC. It's hard core. Look for it at Wilcopub.com.

Euroflight is located at www.SurClaro.com/euroflight. They did this model and it is absolutely great.
